Yesterday, Tuesday, March 1st, Cal State Long Beach’s (incredible!!) Fashion Department had a unique and exciting opportunity and event! Jeannie Mai, host of Style network’s Emmy nominated show “How Do I Look,” sent her team to CSULB to find a young/student designer to create a look for her to wear on her show! We were the very first school chosen for this opportunity! Here is Jeannie’s personal invitation to us!
Myself and 21 other fashion design majors presented our portfolios and constructed garment designs to Jeannie’s style team in order to showcase ourselves and our design aesthetic.
Thank you to Jeannie Mai and her team for allowing us student designers to showcase our work! I greatly appreciate this opportunity!
Jeannie will be keeping everyone updated on her blog: www.iheartjeanniemai.com. Here is the link for her post about this event at CSULB! She is also keeping everyone updated on her Facebook page!
Additionally, our school paper, The Daily 49er, has written a couple articles about the event! One of which I was interviewed for, and it is entitled: “CSULB fashion students compete to dress Style Network star.” Here is another article about the event that was published in the Daily 49er today.
Hooray for CSULB! Our fashion department and instructors are so talented and amazing
I am very proud to be a Double Major in Fashion Merchandising and Design at “The Beach!” And as C0-President of the Students in Fashion club at CSULB (along with my great friend Cassie Trunco!), it was an honor to help organize this event with my instructors and fellow fashion students.
Go Beach! andrea ♥

THAT’S AMAZING!!! GOOD LUCK ANDREA!!
Thank you Fio!!!
