Essie’s Fall 2012 nail lacquer collection was inspired by the Duchess of Cambridge, aka Kate Middleton.
The colors are named after handbags, but Essie nail polish founder Essie Weingarten has stated that she was “thoroughly impressed with the Duchess’ feminine look, so much so, that it inspired her new range of nail polishes.” The colors are called case study, glamour purse, lady like, power clutch, carry on, and very structured.
Essie Weingarten also told InStyle magazine that “Like Kate Middleton when she met President Obama wearing a classic beige dress, black heels and matching black clutch. It was just so ladylike. I love the look of classic, fashionable, and timeless.” This is the outfit she was referring to:
