On the 150 day countdown to the London 2012 Olympics, Olympic rings were presented on the River Thames near Tower Bridge. It is definitely a sight that makes the nearing Olympics a reality. I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to attend the Olympic games beginning on July 27th!
Also announced was that Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip will open the Olympic Games at the Opening Ceremony on July 27, 2012. She is definitely having a busy Diamond Jubilee Year, marking her 60 years on the throne. Her father, the late King George VI, opened the 1948 London Olympics, and her great grandfather, King Edward VII, opened the 1908 London Olympics. Cheers to the Queen!
