The Spice Girls Reunite in London: ‘Viva Forever’ Launch

This morning in London, the Spice Girls reunited at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, where the video for Wannabe was filmed. They all looked absolutely stunning while posing on the golden carpet and in front of THE staircase featured in the music video. The purpose of their reunion today was to launch their ‘Viva Forever’ musical that will premiere in December at the Piccadilly Theatre in the West End of London, as mentioned in my previous post.

Interview with the Spice Girls!!

This past week on Twitter, the Spice Girls themselves were being secretive yet mentioning  big event and sending out Spice Girl love, which we now know was foreshadowing that they would be reuniting soon. Today was the day!

Victoria tweeted this this morning, reunited, meaning the Spice Girls!

They were definitely “trending” worldwide this morning on Twitter!

Mel B was wearing Lanvin, Mel C was in an Acne dress, Emma was in a dress I thought to be reminiscent of Kate Middleton’s navy engagement announcement dress, Victoria was in a design of her own, and Geri created her own dress as well. According to the Telegraph UK, Emma was said to help with the hem!

Spice Girls Musical!! ‘Viva Forever’

Spice Girls generation, we are in for a treat!! Coming this December, a musical based on the music of the Spice Girls is set to premiere in the West End of London! It is entitled ‘Viva Forever’ and will feature songs such as Wannabe, The Lady Is A Vamp, Who Do You Think You Are, and Mama. It will open at the Piccadilly Theatre. The musical will center around a mother and daughter, and will also include a television talent show. I’m sure the costumes will be amazing!

I am beyond thrilled about this news, because the Spice Girls were my very first concert back on August 16, 1998 in California! I remember it so vividly, and will never forget that amazing concert experience. Here is a magazine I still have from 1998!

I would love to travel to London for a third time once it opens, but I’m sure it will make it to New York and hopefully Los Angeles or Las Vegas some day as well. According to the Huffington Post UK, all five of the Spice Girls, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Chisholm, and Melanie Brown, have been involved in the development of the musical, and are set to attend its premiere this December.

Prior to the premiere of the musical, there are rumors floating around that the Spice Girls might reunite this summer as well. Some people thought they would possibly perform at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert, but since that did not happen, there are hopes of them performing at one of the ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for that!

Soundsational Summer

The title of this post is “Soundsational Summer,” because it was just that! I’ve never experienced so many live music performances in one summer before! I am so happy I was born and raised in the beautiful state of California, and that I live near such a prime location for music/tv/movies, etc: Los Angeles!Here is a list of all the musicians I had the pleasure of seeing live in concert/tv tapings in the past 3 months:

‘Hairspray’ at the Hollywood Bowl

Hairspray is coming to the famous Hollywood Bowl in California this weekend, August 5th-7th!

The cast is sensational, including two of the original Broadway stars: Marissa Jaret Winokur (Tracy Turnblad) and Harvey Fierstein (Edna Turnblad). Other members of the cast include Nick Jonas (Link Larkin), John Stamos (Corny Collins), Diana DeGarmo (Penny Pingleton), Drew Carey (Wilbur Turnblad), Corbin Bleu (Seaweed J. Stubbs), Michael McDonald (Mr. Pinky), Mo Gaffney (Prudy Pingleton), Darlene Love (Motormouth Maybelle), and Tara Macri (Amber Von Tussle).

Hairspray is one of my absolute favorite movies, and I have been wanting to see the show live for many years. I am so thrilled to be going this Sunday at the Bowl! There are two versions of the film. The original starred Ricki Lake in 1988, and the 2007 re-make starred Nikki Blonsky, John Travolta, Zac Efron, Amanda Bynes, Brittany Snow, and James Marsden, etc:
